Data deletion

You can ask us to delete the personal data you gave us. Here we explain what gets deleted, what we are obliged to keep, how to request it and how long we take to reply.

Who can request it

Anyone who has sent us their data through the contact form, by email or in the course of a commercial relationship.

If the data sits inside a system we operate for a client company, that company is the data controller and we act as processor. In that case we pass your request to the responsible company and tell you who to continue with.

What gets deleted

Once the request is approved we delete the following from our active systems:

  • Your contact details: name, company, email and phone.
  • The content of the messages you sent and the interests you ticked.
  • Sales follow up records associated with you.
  • Copies held in backups, within the current backup rotation cycle.

What we must keep

Some information cannot be deleted immediately because a legal obligation requires keeping it. In those cases we hold it blocked, meaning it is not used for any purpose other than meeting that obligation.

  • Electronic receipts and accounting records, for the period Costa Rican tax rules require.
  • Contracts and documentation of services provided, while the applicable limitation periods run.
  • Minimum records evidencing that your own deletion request was handled.

How to request it

Write to [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion”, from the same address you contacted us with.

Include your full name, the company if applicable and, if you remember it, the approximate date of contact. We may ask for additional information solely to verify your identity, and we do not use it for anything else.

You can also use the contact form on this site, stating your request in the message.

Response time

We confirm receipt of your request within the following five business days and tell you what was deleted and what remains blocked by legal obligation, with the reason in each case.

If the request cannot proceed, we explain why and what you can do next.

If you are not satisfied

You may file a complaint with the Costa Rican data protection authority, the supervisory body for personal data in the country.
